I could not agree more with you. He is a genious and a gem. I am especially enchanted by the dance sequence in his character study ‘l’ecole des Facteurs’ - a 15 min short.

ps - the Welsh for ghost is ‘ysbryd’… the hybrid of Welsh and Latin is more horrific to me than that of a slug and a ghost.

Yes, I don’t care for the term ‘math-rock’ much… I don’t care for any musical genre name particularly, especially if it consists of more than one word… but Battles is close to defying categorisation.

I deny all knowledge of the “real” Caribou. I made them up. They owe their existence to me and me alone. The only other one I made up was Hoopoe. The others are all real!

Ah yes, they’re a real band, but whether the aforementioned fella stuck them in a song or not was severely doubted by me… but Caribou are modern electro-indie band, so they seem a bit out of place!

Also, seeing as I don’t know the song, I keep hearing the lyrics sung to the only fools and horses theme tune. It fits quite well.

To my shame, I’m not aware of the original song… but my guesses are Rainbow Ffolly (as you and I are the only people to have heard of them… did I tell you I used to do a cover of the Sighing Game?). Also, due to previous form, Capybara strikes me as something you’d make up…
